A bust of Sir Lennox Berkeley, depicting the head and neck of the sitter, when elderly, mounted on a square wooden black-painted plinth. He is facing forward, wearing a shirt collar and necktie. The work is bronze painted plaster linked to its plinth by a bronze-painted metal support bar.

The bust was sculpted following ten sittings by Sir Lennox Berkeley in his home in Warwick Avenue, Little Venice; following its exhibition at the Cheltenham Festival, Chester Music contacted the artist on 27th October 1983 asking to purchase the bust. The copy now in the Academy was a gift from the artist to the Berkeleys. The bust was exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1983.
