Information provided by the artist about the artwork reads: Part of my festival boat work "Alali Aru". These boats are created in the Niger Delta for funerals and Chieftaincies – dug out canoes that have a platform built onto them so that performers can parade, a tiered boat with bunting and a variation of the long boats that were part of the slave trade.'
