On the right of the picture, under the shelter of a rock near the cliff face, are three figures. There is a fisherman, dressed in a red cravat, blue coat, large black boots and canvas leggings. On the left is a woman in a red skirt, dark blouse and bonnet, pouring water from a pot into a jug: next to her is a small cauldron. A small boy sits, watching. On the extreme right, in the corner of the picture, are nets or sails. On the left is the cliff-side and the sea, with a man and his dog on the water's edge.
