The artist was self-taught and known for his use of bright colours and abstract forms. He acknowledges the influence of artists such as Picasso, Rembrandt and Van Gogh on his work. In his later life he produced a number of sculptures, mainly abstract human forms, in either steel or bronze. Dutkiewicz has had work exhibited at Tate as well as for the Arts Council of England and other public spaces.
