"Catherine Tait is seated very close to the artist, hands clasped, in an enclosed, box-like space, like a piece of sculpture on display. But with her red hair, creamy skin and pendulous breasts she looks very much alive. Her pose is comparable to an Egyptian tomb figure in the time of the Pyramids, an impression reinforced by the modelling of her finely chiselled features and straight hair."
