A sketch from the deck of the 'Umberleigh'. Waves from a medium swell are visible in the foreground and mountainous land is shown in profile in the background, towards the horizon. A ship can be seen in the distance steaming towards the land. A band of cloud is arranged diagonally across the image. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Umberleigh', from Barry, Wales, to Vancouver, Canada, in December 1933 and returned in March 1934.
