Timothy Butler
1806–1885
Butler studied at the Royal Academy Schools from 1825 onwards and first exhibited there in 1828. He was a successful portrait sculptor who also did some architectural sculpture, including Lions’ head for pedestals on the Thames riverside and designs for lamp standards for the Thames Embankment, which were produced by the Coalbrookdale ironworks.
