Myles Birket Foster

1825–1899

(b North Shields, Northumberland [now in Tyne and Wear], 4 Feb. 1825; d Weybridge, Surrey, 27 Mar. 1899). English painter and illustrator. He was trained as a wood engraver and early in his career designed many book illustrations.
