James Collinson

1825–1881

(b Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, 9 May 1825; d London, 24 Jan. 1881). English painter. He was one of the original members of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood (PRB) in 1848, but he left it in 1850 because he felt it was incompatible with his Roman Catholic faith and in 1852 began training to be a Roman Catholic priest.
