Remnants of a small Neolithic henge monument found on Holme beach in 1998 and fully excavated in 1999. The monument is comprised of a ring of half-timbers forming a circular screen in the centre of which is an inverted oak tree stump. The timbers have been restored at Flag Fen, Peterborough and the Mary Rose Trust, Portsmouth and reinstalled in a dedicated display room in Lynn Museum. The display notes that originally Seahenge stood on saltmarsh with mixed oak nearby. In time the marsh eroded to reed and then peat, which preserved the timbers, before the encroachment by the sea. It also notes the contrast between the rough bark on the outer circle and the glow from the freshly cut wood once inside.
