This work originally stood on the left side of the rood screen in Saint Cuthbert's ante-chapel, mirroring Hoffman's 'Our Lady of the Help' on the right. Today it stands under a marvellous canopy designed by Edward Pugin in a chapel built for the use of estate workers at Ushaw and appropriately dedicated to Saint Joseph the Worker.
