The sculptures were sculpted in situ in 1997/1998 in a community woodland which was planted in 1996. Eight boulders of different stone types are carved with a variety of abstract and pictorial motifs. All of the sculptures are by paths, distributed across the undulating woodland site. The designs include: a yellow stone boulder carved to represent a pair of hands in the prayer position; a red stone block cut away into a whorl on one side, with imprints of hands carved on the rear face; a white stone block carved with abstract curving hemi-spherical incisions.
