A bronze seated statue of Robert Arthur Talbot, Third Marquess of Salisbury, three times Prime Minister of Great Britain. The former Prime Minister is depicted wearing the Chancellor robes of the University of Oxford and the collar of the Order of the Garter. It was unveiled by Lord Clarendon, Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, to an audience of over 2000 people. There is a projecting centre on the west side with the Salisbury coat of arms and inscription. A frieze includes a carved leaf ornament.
