Six brick structures in the form of well-heads stand at right angles to one another. On the facade of each of the structures is a sculpture comprised of clay bricks, raised on a brick soffit. The figurative reliefs represent various railway images: cogs; wheels; signposts; and the workings of a locomotive. Children's clay engravings decorate the brick plant boxes at each base, which have now been filled with what appears to be concrete, decorated with small white stones. The supermarket chain Aldi commissioned the artist to build an entrance feature for their new store as part of a 'per cent for art' scheme organised by Darlington Borough Council. Responding to a brief which dictated that the sculptures relate to the locality, Jarratt drew on Darlington's railway heritage as a source of imagery.
