A cast from an original in the Vatican Museum, which Sigmund Freud visited in 1908. He spotted the relief on display and recognised her as the figure featured in a 1903 novella by Wilhelm Jensen. Freud had psychoanalysed the protagonist in Jensen's book and was moved to see her in the museum.
