A pair of larger-than-life lions set on a stone pedestal. One is asleep and one is awake. The lions loosely flank a statue of Charles Compton Cavendish at the bottom of the market square. The lions were proposed in a letter dated 1887 by Baron Rothschild stated he wished to present the lions to the town as a gift. They formally stood on the lawn of Waddesdon Manor.
