A tapered obelisk, originally erected at the Albert Quay in the town centre after the 1846 visit of Queen Victoria and her Consort, Prince Albert. The obelisk fell into the sea. It was recovered in 1977 and erected at the present site, Caffa Mill, to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and her Consort, Prince Philip.

THIS OBELISK WAS FORMERLY ERECTED / ON ALBERT QUAY TO MARK THE LANDING / OF QUEEN VICTORIA AND PRINCE ALBERT / THERE ON SEPTEMBER 8TH, 1846. / AS A SILVER JUBILEE TRIBUTE, AND TO / COMMEMORATE THE VISIT OF HER MAJESTY / QUEEN ELIZABETH II AND PRINCE PHILIP TO / FOWEY IN 1962, IT WAS RECOVERED FROM / THE HARBOUR BED WHERE IT HAD LAIN / FOR MANY YEARS AND ERECTED ON THIS / CAFFA MILL SITE. 1977.
