A standing female figure in a loose gown, her hair held in place by a head band. In her left hand she holds a book and in her right a serpent, the traditional attributes of Prudence personified. This sculpture of Prudentia was from a model by Frederick William Pomeroy. It was possibly first used in Nottingham in 1885, and was used for both the Liverpool and Lewisham branches.
