The Duke is represented standing, his right arm rests on two books which lie on top of a truncated column, while his right hand holds out a scroll. He wears his ducal robes and the collar of the Garter. On the column carve din relief is the 'all-seeing eye' of the freemasons, and a large ornamental letter E (for Edward), framed by laurel branches.
