The portrait of Bonnie Prince Charlie is a copy after a formal state portrait by Laurent Pécheux from 1770. The original portrait, which was displayed in the Palazzo Stuart in Rome, is in Stanford Hall, Leicestershire. The Blairs Museum copy came from Paris.
