The back of the painting is marked with the words ‘M Kuling 1817’ together with the number ‘21’.

This is one of nineteen paintings associated with the Ingleby family of Valentines estate, Ilford, Essex which were donated to Ilford Borough Council in 1957 by Clement Rolfe Ingleby, son of Holcombe Ingleby of Sedgeford Hall, Norfolk. It now forms part of the collections of Redbridge Museum.
