The name Parsloes was derived from the Passelewe family who owned the estate in the thirteenth century. Reconstructed in the fourteenth century, it was then a two-storey brick building with a central hall on the ground floor. Purchased by William Fanshawe in 1619 and remaining in the family until 1917, the building underwent alterations and enlargements. Heavily mortgaged by the mid-nineteenth century, the house was let to a succession of tenants, was derelict by the late nineteenth century and in ruin by 1900. Parsloes Manor House was demolished in 1925.
