The work was originally installed in the Guards' Chapel at Wellington Barracks, London. The building was mostly destroyed in June 1944. It is part of a series of 28 panels. It does not appear in the list of works by George Tinworth in the book ‘Royal Military Chapel, Wellington Barracks’ (Hatchards; 1882). It is possible this particular sculpture was installed after the book was published.
