A starboard side view of the harbour tug 'Garnock' heading for Irvine harbour. The vessel has a black hull with red boot-topping, red funnel, white wheelhouse and tall white mast at top front of the wheelhouse. In black calligraphic text at the upper left of the painting is a table detailing paint colours to be used on each part of the vessel. The tug is now part of the Scottish Maritime Museum's collection.
