A large-scale mechanical bull, in a steampunk style. Built for the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, it become a star of the show, with billowing steam and glowing eyes animating the huge beast. The bull went on display in Centenary Square where the public took it to heart. Never intended to be a permanent outdoor sculpture, the games organisers bowed to public pressure and the bull was taken away to be adapted as a permanent installation. Dubbed 'Ozzy' after Birmingham’s famous son, Ozzy Osbourne, the bull has been moved to a new indoor location at New Street Station.
