This is a copy of a painting otherwise known as 'Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn' and thought to date from the seventeenth century, in the Chapel of the Gate of Dawn, Vilnius.

It was commissioned by Polish forces stationed in the area during the Second World War, as a remembrance and token of gratitude for the people of Falkland.
