While resembling a classical bust, this sculpture depicts a person of uncertain ethnicity. It was first exhibited as part of the 'Hyperboreans' exhibition at Glasgow's Compass gallery in 1992, which explored ideas about the Hyperborean race situated at the northern edge of the southern-centre classical world.
