One of a set of three paintings commissioned by William Beckford to illustrate objects that were in his collection at Lansdown Tower in Bath (now known as Beckford's Tower). Lithographs after the paintings were published in 'Views of Lansdown Tower' by Edmund English in 1844, following Beckford's death in the same year.
