Grassie likes collecting, classifying, series and sequences of any kind. 'Mr and Mrs Makesack-Leitch’s House', by Elgin, Moray, is from a series of paintings of Scottish Houses in which he reduces art to a simple mechanical reproduction of the banal. Grassie mimics the bland 1950s postcard images of suburbia. The effect is a chilling look at the soulless environments of the twentieth century.
