A large sarcophagus built into the wall surmounted by a standing female figure, robed, holding a large cross in her right hand, her left resting on an urn; above the figure is the Percy arms. There are inscriptions to the front of the sarcophagus.

EARL OF NORTHUMBERLAND, 1632. / LADY DOROTHY DEVEREUX, HIS WIFE, 1619. / LADY LUCY PERCY, COUNTESS OF CARLISLE, HIS DAUGHTER, 1660. / ALGERNON10TH. EARL HIS SON, 1668. / LADY ANN CECIL, HIS WIFE, 1637. / LADY ELIZABETH HOWARD, HIS SECOND WIFE. 1704. / LADY ANN PERCY, LADY STANHOPE, HIS DAUGHTER, 1654. / JOSCELINE 11TH. EARL, HIS SON, 1670. / LADY ELIZABETH WRIOTHESLEY, HIS WIFE, 1698. / HENRY EARL OF OGEE, 1680. / AND OTHERS OF THE FAMILY OF PERCY WHICH AT THE DEATH OF JOSCELINE / BECAME EXTINCT IN THE MALE LINE. / THIS MONUMENT WAS ERECTED TO THEIR MEMORY / BY THEIR DESCENDANT GEORGE EARL OF EGREMONT / IN THE YEAR 1837 THE 86TH OF HIS AGE. / MORTUIS MORITURUS; carved letters into black marble at base of monument: IN THE CHURCH WAS BURIED JOSCELINE DE LOUVAIN / WHO MARRIED AGNES, THE HEIRESS OF THE PERCY FAMILY. / HE WAS BROTHER TO QUEEN ADELICIA / WHO AFTER THE DEATH OF HER HUSBAND HENRY THE FIRST / GAVE TO HIM THE HONOR AND MANOR OF PETWORTH A PART OF HER DOWRY / WHICH GRANT WAS CONFIRMED TO THE FAMILY BY HENRY THE SECOND.
