A framed road map with a meteorite burn, from an edition of 20. Cornelia Parker created a series of meteorite ‘landings’ made by heating a 400 year-old iron meteorite which originally fell on Namibia, and then using it to scorch impact craters on six road maps of the American south, hitting or missing locations she has never visited but which have achieved mythical status in her mind. The series is entitled 'Meteorite Lands in the Middle of Nowhere'.
