The picture shows a samurai military commander standing in the rain with a bow in his hand. A kneeling young woman is offering him a piece of Yamabuki flower branch. Japanese tanka poem reads: Nanae yae hana wa sakedomo Yamabuki no mino hitotsuda ni nakizo kanashiki – Although the seven-fold double flowers bloom, it is not one of the fruits of Yamabuki and it is sad. The print shows the following episode: During a falconry trip with his men, Dokan was suddenly hit by rain and offered to borrow a Mino (traditional Japanese raincoat made of straw) at a farmhouse. The young girl who answered is depressed and only offers a branch of Yamabuki flower. Dokan who does not know the situation says: 'I didn’t want Yamabuki, I want to borrow a Mino'.
