Mae Môn yn adnabyddus am ei nifer o felinau gwynt ac yn hanesyddol roedd yr ynys yn cael ei hadnabod fel ‘Môn Mam Cymru’, oherwydd ei thir ffrwythlon. Roedd Harry Hughes Williams yn aml yn darlunio melinau gwynt yr ynys yn ei waith celf; mae'r dyfrlliw hwn o Felin Stanley ger Trearddur. Dechreuodd y gwaith ar ei adeiladu ym 1828 ac erbyn 1938 hon oedd y felin wynt olaf i weithredu yng Nghymru, pan gafodd ei difrodi'n ddrwg gan storm. Heb unrhyw arian i’w drin, daeth y felin yn ddiffaith. Yn y 1960au cafodd tŵr y felin ei newid yn dŷ. Anglesey is well known for its many windmills and historically the island was known as ‘Môn Mam Cymru’ (Anglesey the Mother of Wales), due to its fertile land. Harry Hughes Williams often depicted Anglesey’s windmills in his artwork; this watercolour is of Stanley Mill near Trearddur.
