Medal, silver, struck in commemoration of the Union of England and Scotland, 1st May, 1707. Obv. Queen Anne. Rev. The British shield supported upon a pedestal flanked by the lion and unicorn with shields bearing a rose and thistle united and the Union Jack respectively. The obverse shows the Bust of the Queen to the left, crowned, hair entwined with pearls, lovelock on right shoulder, in embroidered gown with straps on the shoulder, collar, George and Star of the Garter; a bow of pearls with a brooch on the left shoulder fastens a mantle which passes behind. Rev.: MAH. I. MDCCVII. The pedestal bears the double cypher A R in monogram; in the exerguue are two sceptres crossed in saltire and the collar and George of the Garter.
