Commissioned along with the monkey and squirrel, it was originally proposed that the penguins should be hidden under a bench so that only children would be likely to spot them. The penguins have become one of Dundee’s most popular pieces of public art – they are dressed up at various times of the year and even have their own unofficial Facebook page.
