The design depicts James Conway in uniform and wearing a woollen hat, holding a full oar and paddling as part of the Operation Frankton canoe commando raids. The full scale memorial sculpture was commissioned by Stockport Council and unveiled for display in Stockport at Mount Tabor (Edward Street/Wellington Road South) on Sunday 10th December 2017.
