Folding fan, the leaf decorated with a composite view of some of London’s iconic landmarks by London-born street artist, Nathan Bowen. Contemporary fan maker, Sylvain Le Guen reinforced the patriotic theme with sticks painted red, white and blue (representing the Union Jack flag). The top parts of the sticks extend beyond the outer edge of the leaf, evoking, according to the maker, ‘the spiked railings surrounding London’s parks and garden squares’.

The fan was made as part of The Fan Museum’s 2017 Street Fans project – a unique collaboration between two contrasting creative disciplines: street art and fan making.
