Concave and convex seating representing waves featuring rolled and laser cut metal back rest, sapele timber seating and stone base. The installation also includes 18 metal plaques inscribed with the names of individuals awarded lifeboat gallantry medals between 1824 and 1985. There are also two concrete bollards with mosaic designs set into the top. One mosaic features a compass and the other a ship on a stormy sea with the town seal on its flag. Originally the installation featured motion activated LED lights under the seats and the plaques. There were also several Corten, weathering steel, planters which are now missing.
