The title and date which are inscribed on the stretcher are possibly contemporary with the picture Signed bottom left: Max Ernst 1. From NGS conservation report 1980: Stamp: CHABOD suer [??] de BOVAR / Mf. de COULEURS / TOILES de TABLEAUX / RUE DE BUCY.15 2. Apparently inscribed on stretcher with title and date 1924 but not seen for this present report
