Framed in an overmantel thought to have been designed by William Hogarth. A small near-replica, signed and dated 1753, was in a sale at Christie's, 17 December 1948 (76) but with the addition of a dead tree in the foreground, a dog following the woman centre right, and a fence in front of the water, centre background
