A Baroque landscape depicting figures from the Old Testament (Abraham and Isaac) walking through an elaborate landscape scene. Isaac looks up at Abraham, his father, who returns the glance to his heir, Isaac. A fortress is depicted in the background with a moat and a bridge. There is a single unidentified figure walking along the bridge. Behind Abraham and Isaac there are figures walking with a donkey. Trees and shrubs line the central section of the painting in dark green and yellow. The painting shows a romanticised vision of the landscape with imagined biblical characters depicted in the scene, which was a consistent subject of European Baroque art.
