A view across a hayfield in North Wales towards the sea with dark, ominous-looking hills in the background. There is a single woman with a pitchfork in the hayfield, raking hay into stacks. There are three sheep grazing in the left-hand side of the field. The colours of the hayfield are yellow and brown with lush green trees on the edge of the sea. The marks are dry and the paint appears to be thick and layered, contributing to the textured finish of the painting.
