This landscape painting by a former Principal of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama shows a view over some fields, with two large trees on the left and a cloudy sky. It may have formed part of a project which was put together by the then Principal of the Royal Academy of Music, Sir Stanley Marchant, comprising a collection of landscape paintings by his musician colleagues and friends, including some of his own works, though the others in the series are watercolours. This painting has a particularly attractive frame.
