A life-sized statue of Lady Wantage, Harriet Sarah Jones-Loyd seated on her own chair wearing a long dress and hat. Lady Wantage was a noted art collector and benefactor. She was also one of the wealthiest women of her time. With her husband, she was instrumental in setting up the National Aid Society, which was the forerunner of the British Red Cross Society. In 1892 she donated Abington Manor House and land from the estate to the people of Northampton for use as a park and museum. This sculpture is part of a series of five statues of historical figures with a strong connection to Northampton, which were commissioned following the popularity of John Clare, installed in 2016.
