Market stalls on the west side of the Grande Place (Marktplein), around 1900, probably seen from one of the eastern upper windows of the Hotel du Pelican on the south side. The nearest three bays of the pedimented building on the left are the Estaminet de Beiaard ('belfry cafe'), the second two a Delhaize Frères grocery store. All the buildings shown, and the hotel row, were destroyed in the First World War.
