A work in the Gothic style. It is in three stages and is square in plan. It is made of red brick with quoins and ornaments in limestone. There is a plain-tiled pyramid roof with gablets containing louvres, a weather vane and surmounting racehorse. The ground stage has a drinking fountain on three faces within a pointed arched recess which has applied diaperwork terracotta tiles and angle buttresses. The second stage has a frieze with the carved inscription. The clock itself was donated by Charles Blanton, a Newmarket racehorse trainer and to this day it is wound by hand every week.
