The clock tower is built from brick with Bath stone dressings. It is square in plan with square projections on the angles at each corner. It has a stone, crenellated parapet and stone 'pepper pots' on each corner; and the whole is surmounted by a timber framed cupola containing a bell, with an octagonal copper-domed roof and ornate iron finial. The cornice below the parapet is decorated with mythical beasts at each corner. The clock face has a stone surround with quatrefoil ornament on each side and gothic stone arcading below. One side of the plinth has an entrance door, the other a drinking fountain. There is a commemorative stone plaque to Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee 1897.
