Portrait of John Manning, Physician. Descended from a cordwainer living in Diss in the sixteenth century, his father was a merchant ship owner in Great Yarmouth. He graduated from Leyden and was admitted an Extra-Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians in 1757.

One of the first five Physicians originally appointed to the Hospital in 1771. There is a monument to him in St Stephen's church, Norwich.
