Joe Calzaghe is shown in his gym in the South Wales valleys, close to his Newbridge home. He is an example of a Welsh mentor for ambitious young people: he combines an impeccable courtesy outside the ring with a devastating aggression when in a contest. He was the most successful Welsh boxer of all time, a showman and professional of the highest calibre. His career spanned from 1993 to 2008; he never lost or drew a fight, despite being knocked down in several of his professional fights.
