The jackfruit tree bears the largest fruit of all trees – some reaching over 50kg. Each tree produces over 100 fruit each year.

Ripe and unripe fruit are commonly used in south and southeast Asian dishes. The ripe fruit is sweet, tasting a little like pineapple or banana, and used in cakes and custards.
